Hey everyone! Happy Holidays 🙂

It has been super busy lately between the holiday season, training for my new job, and the ongoing house hunt. I am feeling such an intense amount of gratitude lately. We have something in the works right now regarding a house, but I don’t even want to go into detail until it’s done- since we have been in too many situations lately where we were beat out on an offer, backed out, etc. The horrors of house hunting, am I right?!

Currently doing…

All of the Christmas things!

I am really enjoying every last second of the holiday season this year…I remember last year it didn’t feel like Christmas as much. Do you ever have a year like that?

Last weekend Frankie had off of work and we had the best holiday weekend filled with a Victorian stroll, a guided lantern tour of a historical home, and a winter bonfire with eggnog.

But my favorite part of the stroll…

Was the Christmas goat. OMG!

Later that night we headed to a guided lantern tour at a historical home…the home is that of a famous Hudson Valley painter.

Holiday parties…

We actually had 2 work holiday parties last week and I had so much fun at both!

Fun fact…I ate all 4 of these in the car on the way home. Shoutout to Frankie for picking me up so I could have a few cocktails 😛  #Ineedtogotothegym

This weekend my currently doing list includes: nothing. And it has been glorious. Today it is icing and sleeting outside and I plan on staying in and wrapping presents 🙂

Although I did make homemade pizza (mom even made the dough herself!) with mom last night. It turned out so amazing. Check out mama’s pizza recipe here!

Currently Wearing…

#Decemberoutfits

I’m going to apologize ahead of time for the terrible quality of these phone selfies. Also don’t judge me for the bathroom selfies…the bathrooms at work have great long mirrors!

My all time favorite outfit of the month goes to this Pinstripe jumpsuit find from Forever 21…complete with my Moon and wolf sweater. I got this moon sweater from Target, although it was quite awhile ago. They still have some pretty adorable sweaters right now, especially ugly holiday ones! P.S.-I have quite a few holiday sweaters (and other holiday attire) for sale right now on my Poshmark too.

My holiday part look: Plaid leggings + Black denim overall dress

Sorry for the grainy picture…The moon sweater makes an appearance again,  this flannel is also from Target (their new brand Wild Fable that I love) and has become my favorite ever, and these hounds tooth leggings from Zara are another favorite.

Currently watching…

All the Christmas movies!

Anything on Hallmark is good to me. Even the cheesy ones!

And…this show is hilarious and very binge worthy.

vandal.jpg

The first season follows the aftermath of a costly high school prank that left 27 faculty cars vandalized with phallic images. Senior class clown Dylan Maxwell is accused of the crime by the school. He is expelled, but an investigation into the incident is launched by sophomore Peter Maldonado, with help from his friend Sam Ecklund, to uncover whether Dylan was the one truly behind the crime.

The second season follows Peter and Sam as they investigate a new crime at a Catholic private high school after their cafeteria’s lemonade is contaminated with laxatives by someone calling themselves “The Turd Burglar”.

Currently Bullet Journaling…

Bullet Journal Diary: Part 2- Focusing on the present

Listening now…

I have been using my bullet journal more than ever lately. What I have realized from the time I have had with it so far is that it has been helping me focus on the present more.

First post here- Bullet Journal Diary: Part 1

I think we could all use a little help being able to focus on the present more.

To breathe. To be mindful.

Except dogs- they have that pretty down pat. They just run and they don’t think about it. They chase the ball- not knowing if they will get it or make it in time.

IMG_6857.JPG

Just go for it.

I can’t believe it’s May already. I feel like this year is definitely going by faster than last year already.

Please excuse the pictures below as Molly stepped across my journal with her muddy feet. =P

Washi tape is still my best friend when I make mistakes.

Another thing I love about bullet journaling is the ability to look back and see what you have done, how you have improved and made progress (especially using these habit trackers), and remembering your memories. It feels pretty good to fill in boxes for good things like exercising, meditation, no alcohol, etc.

IMG_6866.JPG

I have been tracking my self care, moods, and habits. I find it easier to be consistent with the journal compared to planning because once you do one of these for the month, you just fill them in day to day.

I got this tea cup mood tracker idea from Pinterest but really love how it came out.

How cute is this?!

The Bullet Journal has been wonderful for my mental health as well. Good habits on the tracker boost your self esteem and hold yourself accountable and looking back at your mood tracker helps you to realize even more that we are all human! That means- the good days and the bad.

A Spring Valentines Setting

Listening now…

I decided to do something a little different this year working with Oriental Trading, but still wanted to do a winter post.

February is tough for me- at least with January there is the hope of the new year and all of that. February is where winter gets mean and seems to torture you even worse. Spring can sometimes feel like months away but really it does fly by…

But at least there is Valentines day and celebrations of love.

Looking through Oriental Trading’s Marry Me collection, I got inspired to do a Valentines table setting and thought it would be fun!

IMG_6434IMG_6449

I had such a good time putting this together and even added my Stranger Things cross stitch present from my friend Sam up on the wall. No romantic Valentines dinner is complete without Stranger Things, right?! Nothing is complete without Stranger Things.

As soon as I found these starfish and succulents, I knew I wanted to do a spring-themed Valentines table setting.

Something to brighten this dark and dull winter and bring life to the table.

My plan is to make a terrarium with the succulents so I will do an updated blog post on that once it happens…

Thanks so much for reading

Reverse Bucket List: 2017

Listening now…

Happy New Year everyone!

Instead of writing out goals this year I wanted to do a Reverse bucket list post. I have been seeing these around and wanted to write one so what better time than the end of one year! I love writing goals, but the reverse bucket list is a way for you to look back on your year with gratitude for all you have done and accomplished!

bucket list.jpg

  1. Traveled to my dream destination-Santorini, Greece. This by far made 2017. Start here with my Stories of Santorini posts if you want to come along on the journey. The next few things on my reverse bucket list also took place in Santorini:
  2. Swam in a hot spring.  Definitely.was.not.hot.  But so worth it to say we did it.
  3. Ate a real Greek Gyro. (And ate them….every day.)
  4. Quadded around the cities of Santorini. And watched many Greeks completely ignore stop signs. (Stoptional, am I right?)
  5. Rented a private cruise ship.
  6. Experienced the most amazing sunsets of my life looking over Santorini.
  7. Okay moving on to the rest of the year…
  8. Went to Watkins Glen and walked under waterfalls
  9. Rescued a dog and experienced first hand picking her up! Hey Molly….. 🙂
  10. Saw my sister graduate yoga school. (200 hour) That was a really cool experience & I am so proud of her!! Yoga graduations are not like regular graduations- there is a lot of chanting, meditating, and dancing! (Plus food)
  11. Went to a cat cafe for the first time! They even had cat cupcakes.
  12. Went to my first bachelor & bachelorette party
  13. Reached almost 900 WordPress & 900 email followers on this little blog (Woohoo thank you all!)
  14. Put my first ads on my blog & got accepted as a Target Affiliate
  15. Reached out to many brands for collaborations. Sure I got no answers on quite a few but I still did it…
  16. Left my job to pursue working at an animal hospital
  17. Came back to my job in realizing the animal hospital life is not for me. Learned I really don’t want to be a Vet Tech.
  18. Went back to school to take Graphic Design classes. So far I love it and am continuing with it and want to take Web Design classes too so we will see what happens. Anyone else following this path?
  19. Got to design a logo for my fundraiser at my job. It was really cool to see my logo on the photos every one took on the red carpet!
  20. Met with a funding group about buying a house. Doing big adulting things is well….scary. We have been looking at homes on and off for about a year and a half, but now we are definitely getting more serious about it. We weren’t really ready until recently and now we are really excited about it.
  21. Went to a lighthouse
  22. Went to see my sister’s new place in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
  23. Did a photo shoot with a photographer on a USS Slater ship. It was a 1940’s vintage shoot!
  24. Went to a great pumpkin blaze with thousands of lit Jackolanterns
  25. Got the chance to work with Rover.com on this blog & have them write a blog post for me and Tweet it on their Twitter. As a dog lover, this was really cool for me and I always love developing new relationships with brands to work with.

So cheers to all of our accomplishments this past year and sure– we’ll set some goals too. But most of all, we will be proud of ourselves and how far we have come. We will live in gratitude and have more presence in our daily lives, being mindful of our steps as we take them.

“Don’t look back- you’re not going that way”

Letters to the Universe [December]

Listening now…

(I have been listening to this on repeat but I always skip to # 3 (starts at 7:00) , not a huge fan of 1 and 2 but the rest of the album is fantastic!)

How’s everyone’s weekend going?!

I hope well… it’s been good for me, but today is chore and homework day. I am in the final stretch with school, with my final project due this week, in case you were wondering where I have been. I have a ton of blog posts planned for this month, especially since I will have more time!

I wanted to do this fun blog post that I first saw on one of my favorite blogger’s site, here!     (Hey Charlotte- thanks for the inspiration!!)

Letters to the Universe: [December]

Dear December, I’m not sure how you happened and it feels like as I get older, the years pass by faster and faster. But I welcome your festivities with Christmas, that give us a chance to spend with family & friends and be thankful. And that warm fuzzy feeling that it all brings.

Dear residents of my town and surrounding, Seems you guys went all out this year with your Christmas lights- thank you for that. I think we all need brighter holiday cheer this year with the state of our world being as it is.

Dear 2 weeks, please help me to not dread Monday as much. Push me to get through my final project and make it all that I know it can be. Give me the inspiration I need for it  and the creative flow to keep me going.

Dear Netflix, thanks for making my next 2 weeks better by bringing back The Crown. YES! Sorry I still haven’t finished Stranger Things even though it came out around Halloween and we are now approaching Christmas. I’ll work on that, but This is Us and Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies have been life lately. (When I do actually have time to watch TV.)

Dear Molly and the rest of my pups, you make my days worthwhile. You are the reason I haven’t moved out of my house yet at 26. (Mom and I will work out joint custody of you when the moving out does happen.)

Dear Molly specifically, can you work with us on trying to stop eating your own poop and those nasty black worms outside… also, must you bring said worms into the house with you? You’re lucky we love you.so.much.

Dear seasonal blues and somewhat more frequent cranky moods lately, go away. You’re not needed here, especially around the time of festive holiday cheer. Be cheery.

[Blog post to come about more on those seasonal blues…]

Dear overthinking, I really don’t need you here either. You overcomplicate the simple and stress me out….

Dear blog readers and followers, you mean so much to me! Thanks for your loyalty and patience with me taking my sweet time to write these posts. 😉  (Quality over quantity)

Dear Christmas, as I get older I truly enjoy giving more than getting. Thank you for teaching me the importance in that and giving me that feeling I love so much every year.

November Gratitude: Year 2/ Week 2

If you missed week 1 gratitude, start here.

This week I’m grateful for….

New opportunities.

I got invited to attend a work fundraiser (and work it) and I am not going to lie, I didn’t want to go at first. Mainly because it was a week night (lol) and I am normally very busy with school work and other things during the week. My work friend convinced me to go and looking back I am really glad I did!

This was an event where you could “walk the red carpet” with the non profit agency I work with. The idea behind the event was to debut a documentary that was made about the clients we help (with the clients actually in the movie- many of whom work for the agency now) and tickets sold at the door benefit our programs.

I felt honored to be there and had a great time- it was also really cool to see my logo that I made for it featured on each photo taken on the red carpet!

red carpet 1carpet dresspics red carpet.jpg

We also had the opportunity to throw a group for the teens we work with and baked apple pies and crisps and made thankful trees.

It was really cute to see what the kids wrote and to teach them to appreciate gratitude…

A few different kids wrote our agency on their leaves and our shelters that we run, which was really cute to see.

New Sims games!

Sims 4 cats and dogs came out this Friday and of course I made a Molly already!

It’s really well done and you can even create mixed breeds, so I created her Chihuahua- Papillon mix.

I am thinking about doing another A Sim Story series  but with the cats and dogs expansion pack.  (And I would actually continue with it this time….)

Let me know what you think!

A weekend to relax and getting back to routines…

Being an introvert,  I am pretty excited to have a little time “off” from having many plans.

The last few weeks were really fun with Halloween, a busy family wedding, and the work event and group. But I am kind of excited to have a few weeks that aren’t as busy for a little while until the holidays come! This weekend I had a lot of down time which included a lot of Sims time.

Getting back to routines is good, too… that includes going to the gym and back to my spin, zumba, and yoga classes. I haven’t gone in a few weeks and I feel the difference in my body, especially in how tense my shoulders are.

What are you grateful for this week ?
