Smart Doggo in his Warby Frames.

For my Spring Fashion Inspiration this year (Check out last years post here) , I am blessed enough to be able to partner with Warby Parker in bringing forward their Spring 2018 collection of eyeglasses. You can find their new collection- here.

I put together a series of Spring outfit looks that are definitely diverse, just to show that you really can find any frame to go with your look of the day. The collection is very versatile and I am even more convinced I need a pair of the non prescription frames after working with them in this post!

FYI- Warby Parker is so unique that they offer both prescription and non prescription eyeglass frames, as well as sunglasses.

Something I found endearing about this brand was their history and how they started, found from their website:

Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: glasses are too expensive. We were students when one of us lost his glasses on a backpacking trip. The cost of replacing them was so high that he spent the first semester of grad school without them, squinting and complaining. (We don’t recommend this.)
The rest of us had similar experiences, and we were amazed at how hard it was to find a pair of great frames that didn’t leave our wallets bare. Where were the options?
We started Warby Parker to create an alternative.

Even better is that for every pair purchased, they donate a pair to those in need.

Over 3 million pairs of glasses have been distributed since the program started. So you can feel even better about your purchase, too!

For each Spring outfit below, I will pair it with a frame at the end!

I love going to the local farmer’s market with my mom and something I might love even more than the market itself is the people watching. I feel like you never know what to expect when you visit the farmer’s market, it puts me in such a good mood, so sometimes I want to dress up for it. Hence the inspiration for look number 4.

Weekend roundup

Listening now…

Trying to live by this motto more often now… ! There’s a little Monday inspiration for you, which we could all use 🙂

How was your weekend?

This Saturday we got high speed internet on the mountain top- it was a miracle! We have been suffering with Verizon wifi since we moved in and sometimes it can be basically impossible to blog.

So last night I sat down to blog, all excited, only to come across the issue with WordPress where it just goes white with the W logo when I hit “new post.” (Even if I try from the dashboard)  This has happened a few times- does anyone else come across this? I have a Macbook air and it’s possible it is a browser issue or something else.

Anyway so here I am… late with the weekend post but still up before mid week, so we’re good, right?

Saturday we met some family for dinner and took a stroll around one of our favorite towns. As a blogger, I am ashamed that I somehow forgot, for once, to photograph the food!

We went to a wood-fired pizza place that we love. Then admired the weirdness that is around us.

We had fun looking at the really really strange window displays…

Then later that night I met a friend at a bar I pass every day but had never been inside…it was pretty quaint!

Sunday I helped mom in the garden and ran this little baby tired with her “Chuck it.”

It was beautiful out so I felt lucky enough to be able to lay out and try to get some sun before my Greece trip, which is coming up really quickly and time is flying by!

I brought my camera out and took advantage of the beautiful spring day!

And she won’t stop until you Chuck it all over the yard…twice. Maybe 3 times or 4.

A Sunday in Spring

Listening now…

This weekend started out being a lazy one, which was much needed, but then turned into a very productive one!

I listed things on Ebay, I did my homework, I answered blogger comments, helped my mom in the garden for hours today, cleaned out my car and did the dreaded dump chore!

It was in the upper 60’s on the mountain top today….so I definitely took time to enjoy the sunshine and felt so much gratitude.

Isn’t it amazing when the ground thaws out, wakes up, and comes alive again?

You don’t realize how good dirt smells or how green the grass is until you’ve been deprived of it in the cold hard months of a long winter.

Is that our own faults for not remaining completely present in the moments in front of us? Or is that simply……human?

As humans, like the dirt and the grass, we, too, wake up in the spring again.

We roll over and stretch, yawning out the tiredness the winter brought upon us.

Everyone was feeling the gratitude of the sunshine today….

IMG_2291

You could hear it in their songs. Songs of praise for the day we had in front of us…

Spring fashion inspiration

Listening now….

spring in the air.jpg

I don’t know what it was about my fall fashion inspiration post but it got 82 likes and people still somehow find it!

I also did a spring inspired fashion wish list post last year and some of the items I never managed to score, like the trench coat and the jumpsuit, so they may have to be added onto my spring wish list this year too.

So here’s a Spring fashion inspiration as I sit here on this Sunday looking out at the gloomy weather and wishing I was on a beach somewhere. Oh and waiting for Superbowl snacks….don’t care about football, but I do care about food. Daydreaming about food, beaches, and spring fashion, currently…

Once again, I look to Alexa Chung, the fashion queen, for inspiration. She can basically do no wrong.

Spring and Summer wish list

Listening now…

Awhile back, on a dreary winter day, I was dreaming of spring….

And now it seems it is here to stay, it’s almost May, and I could not be happier.

I was an August baby, so I think my heart loves and belongs in the sunshine.

I wanted to update the Spring wish list I made a little while back. As I go, I will check items off and make an updated post when I acquire some of these items and will post photos of a haul. After all, I love me some hauls.

I have already started my Spring shopping and purchased a few items like striped jeans, cardigans, and boy short bikini bottoms-which I have been wanting for a few summers!

But I keep thinking of or seeing more and more things I have to have…

Here is my updated Spring and Summer wishlist:

   Shoes of all kinds…

I am a fan of sneakers right now. Been wearing my low top white converse a lot, my Vans, and Keds.

Hence, I would like some more…

Sneakers:

Espadrilles:

TUKS:

I feel like you either love or hate these shoes. I love them and have been lusting over them for awhile now. I have been loving the 90’s style lately and these platform shoes are no exception. Yeah….I need them…

 Matching sets:

Yes please.

Chokers:

I couldn’t be more happy that these came back into style. I have enjoyed layering necklaces with a choker lately.

I love the versatility of them!

T Shirt Dress:

Tropical prints:

Summer floats:

….But do you see these!

I spend almost every day at the lake during the summer. It’s my second home, I bring my pup, throw her ball so she can swim, and bask in the sun while reading a book and listening to whatever lake playlist I have at the time.

I spent last summer lusting after Taylor’s magical swan float. Not again this year, guys!

What are you lusting after this spring and summer?

Spring goals

Listening to: birds, neighbor dog barking, people outside, up and about..

It sure is! Spring time is like a new beginning-

A chance for us to bloom where we are planted.

After all, the grass is greener where you water it.

“Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.”

So I have some Spring goals.  I usually do monthly goal posts, but hey- I’m a little late on that one, it’s already almost mid March!

  1. Play outside

This one’s obvious but yes!-

Getting outside after the winter when you can smell spring in the air, that just rained on the dirt type of aroma all around us that I wish I could bottle up.

A few weekends ago when we had one of our first really warm days, I helped mama in the garden  and the other day we reached 80 degrees up here in NY and I got to visit the lighthouse!

So far so good on this goal. But I really want to:

snail.jpg Do more hikes

snail Find new abandoned locations to photograph and explore

snail Run once a week at the park with my pup- I’ve been good on my gym goal of going once a week consistently, but I want to add another day every week of outdoor exercise

snailGarden more with mom- it is a different kind of therapy altogether getting your hands in the dirt and planting

snail Have a picnic and spring camp

snail Buy a kayak- being on the water is one of my absolute favorite things to do

2. Meditate outside

Meditation has fallen out of my self care and routine for awhile now. It’s crazy how we know things are good for us, yet we fail to do them, right?

When I do meditate, my favorite sounds to listen to are crickets [mom calls them night peepers] and water sounds. I  usually have to find them online out of season, but meditating outside- you have all of those sounds actually around you.

3. Begin planning again

You may know that I love planning– but I have recently fallen off of my planning game, too.

Mostly because I started using my happy planner solely for work and believe it or not, the stickers got distracting for me… probably because I completely went a bit, well, crazy.

I want a separate planner for my personal planning where I can go crazy with stickers, since my personal planner won’t be as full of events/things to do as my work one gets.

Planning out my days helps me keep to a routine and helps keep me balanced.

I have been lusting hard  over an Erin Condren planner for quite some time now.

Particularly, this one:

How perfect for spring and summer- well actually you can’t go wrong with seahorses any time of the year. It just makes me happy to look at it.

They are 20 percent off right now on the site… so I may have to take the plunge.

Then I can deck it out with stickers, washi tape, etc. as much as I want to :- )

What goals do you have for this spring?

A visit to the lighthouse

Listening now…

80 degrees in March today. In upstate NY.  And I couldn’t have been happier!

Last night and today I heard and saw geese flying North. Was sitting on the porch with mama the other night on our swing-it’s here!

We took a visit to the lighthouse after work

I took a lot of pictures!

03094068.JPG03094092.jpgI had my handsome man along with me, who loved being photographed every step along the way. [sarcasm.]

Of course, it was handy to have him there as my photographer, too. I was so happy it was unusually warm out that I got to wear the dress I got in my last thrift haul!
